Margaret "Peg" Anderson succeeded Roxanne Barton Conlin as president of the Iowa Women's Political Caucus (IWPC) in 1975. In 1977 she served as an Iowa delegate to the National Women's Conference in Houston. She also headed the effort to pass an Equal Rights Amendment to the Iowa state constitution on the 1980 ballot.
