Most of the collection pertains to the organizations with which Peg Anderson was affiliated. There is very little about Anderson herself. In many ways, this collection is a continuation of the Iowa Women's Political Caucus records. The newsletters, minutes, membership lists, and position papers from the IWPC and the National Women's Political Caucus in this collection date from 1974 to 1977 while the IWPC records proper date from 1973 to 1975.

Margaret "Peg" Anderson succeeded Roxanne Barton Conlin as president of the Iowa Women's Political Caucus (IWPC) in 1975. In 1977 she served as an Iowa delegate to the National Women's Conference in Houston. She also headed the effort to pass an Equal Rights Amendment to the Iowa state constitution on the 1980 ballot.
